Family Life
At Saint Andrew’s Family Life is part of Parish Life. As St. Benedict teaches, this place with this community is where we become holy. We are different ages with different situations, wants and needs. Our parish is in constant flux, with people moving out and new people coming in. As brothers and sister in Christ, with God as our Father, there is a real sense in which we are called to be a family. We pray, work and study together (some more than others). We worship together each day. The high point is our Sunday Eucharist (including Saturday Evening). On the first Wednesday each month we eat dinner together. Throughout the year we schedule special events (EYC Shrove Tuesday Pancake Dinner, Operation Christmas Child, Women's cookie swap, EYC Parents Night or Pizza Party Summer kickoff). In Advent and Lent we have a Sunday retreat.
There has been a marked societal shift in the last decade. People are busier and more reluctant to make commitments. Our Vestry is seeking to respond to this new situation. Keep an eye on the announcements to hear what might be coming up next. Our goal is to find new ways to do the same old thing: building a community of love. We have need each other and we have each other.
